Instructional design is the process of analysing people, determining what there needs and goals are, then developing a delivery system to meet those needs. This includes the development of instructional tools, materials and activities.
The following are examples of Information / Instructional design:
The Sydney Street Directory

This street directory provides 2D maps of Sydneys roadways.
It has been designed for users to easily navigate around unfamiliar areas.
Street Signs

Traffic signs or road signs are positioned along side of roads to provide information quickly and efficiently to road users.
Electronic Train Timetables

Electronic train timetables are located at train stations which provide constant updates of train arrival times, along with what stops each train will be making.
